COVID-19 Screener

The Town of Beausejour is now accepting applications for the casual position of COVID-19 Screener for the Sun Gro Centre, at minimum wage.

 

Under the direction of the Facility Coordinator, the incumbent shall contribute to safe, quality care by administering screening requirements as required under current public health orders. 

 

Specifications: 

  • Greet employees and visitors to the respective site while carrying out safety screening criteria prior to allowing entry. 
  • Instruct patrons to sign in, follow proper hand hygiene protocols and ensure proper mask attire, if required, during visit.
  • Provide information including assisting with directions around the Sun Gro Centre facility.
  • Deal with visitor inquiries/concerns in a professional, respectful and courteous manner.
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive environment for all through compliance with staff safety policies and procedures.

 

Requirements:

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to work all shifts including days, nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Demonstrates understanding and complies with staff safety policies and procedures.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
  • Able to communicate effectively and assertively with others.

Town of Beausejour Community Services Department

Canteen Attendant 


The Town of Beausejour is now accepting applications for the casual position of Canteen Attendant for the 2021-2022 winter season (September 2021 to April 2022).

 

Duties

Under the general direction of the Concession Supervisor, the individual shall be responsible for providing an acceptable level of customer service to patrons; facility cleaning, cooking and food preparation at the Sun Gro Centre Canteen. 

 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook and serve food as ordered by patrons. 
  • Maintain cleanliness of the canteen and surrounding area including but not limited to sweeping, sanitizing, mopping, picking of garbage, cleaning counters.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patrons. 
  • Complete appropriate reports relating to accidents, first aid, daily logbook, etc. 
  • Process daily cash and sales information.
  • Responsible to comply will all Town policies.
  • To perform other duties as assigned.

 Required Qualification/Specifications

  • Successful completion of the Certified Food Handler Training program.
  • Minimum 15 years of age. Those under the age of 16 will be required to complete a Young Worker Readiness Certificate Course prior to working.

Brokenhead River Planning District

Administrative Assistant

 

The Brokenhead River Planning District is a municipal agency of the Town of Beausejour and the Rural Municipality of Brokenhead and is responsible for land use and development within the District. This position supports the Building Inspector and the Development Officer by providing organizational duties and clerical assistance.  

Administrative tasks are duties related to maintaining an office setting. These duties include tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, greeting visitors, and maintaining organized file systems for the organization.  The position also includes bookkeeping for the Board. 

Compensation for this position is subject to negotiation and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Brokenhead River Planning District

Development Officer


The Brokenhead River Planning District is looking for a Development Officer who can lead, manage and facilitate changes for the betterment of the community.  If you have a thorough knowledge of planning principles and practices, are a creative problem solver who enjoys exploring options and solutions the Brokenhead River Planning District is the place for you.  

 

As a Development Officer, you will have the opportunity to work in a diverse role in both current and long-range planning functions.  Reporting to the Board, your diverse functions will include processing development permits, subdivisions, zoning amendments and formulating land use plans, strategies and frameworks.

 

Excellent communication skills are necessary for this position along with the ability to negotiate and facilitate solutions in a sometimes conflict environment.   A willingness to work with others, learn from mistakes and grow as a professional will be keys to success in your role.  Required qualifications for this position include a post-secondary degree in Planning.

 

The Development Officer, under the direction of the Brokenhead River Planning District Board is responsible to enact the provincial and municipal regulations, by-laws and policies of the Board.  The Development Officer acts as an advisor to the Board, Municipalities and local developers interpreting provincial legislation in The Planning Act, Development Plan and Zoning By-laws of the District in regards to land development within the Municipalities.

 

Knowledge of The Planning Act, development plans and zoning bylaws would be an asset, and the procedures required for amendments to these documents and other applications.

Part Time Ice Technician/Facility Operator  


The Town of Beausejour is now accepting applications for a part time position of Ice Technician/Facility Operator for the Sun Gro Centre.

 

Under the general direction of the Public Works Manager, the incumbent shall be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the Sun Gro Centre/Splash Aquatic Centre and other Town owned buildings including Parks/Green Spaces/Sports fields, as well as the checking of all equipment.

 

The successful applicant must possess the following:

  • General knowledge obtained through completion of secondary school diploma or equivalent.
  • Level 1 & 2 Refrigeration Operator for Recreation Facilities Course an asset/willing to obtain.
  • Manitoba Refrigeration Class Certificate an asset/willing to obtain.
  • Aquatic Facility Operator Course or Certified Pool Operator an asset/willing to obtain.
  • Valid Class 5 drivers licence in good standing.
  • Standard First Aid/CPR/AED.
  • One (1) to two (2) years working in Parks and Recreation.
  • Mechanical Skills, including the ability to operate all facility equipment and assist with basic maintenance within the facilities.
  • Proficient communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient interpersonal skills, dealing with staff and patrons.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word and Excel.

Duties:

Qualifications:

Senior Election Official (SEO)


Applications are being accepted for the position of Senior Election Official (SEO) for the Town of Beausejour.  The SEO is responsible for the overall municipal election process and must be able to interpret and understand all aspects of legislation pertaining to the municipal election process and provide consistent advice to his/her election officials and to the general public.

 

Duties will include:

  • Appointing an assistant SEO and other election officials as required
  • Establishing and maintaining the voters list
  • Giving public notice of nominations
  • Receiving and verifying the nominations
  • Establishing and equipping the voting stations
  • Giving public notice of elections
  • Printing the ballots
  • Overseeing all aspects of the election on election day and
  • All other duties as established in The Municipal Councils and School Board Elections Act.

 In the years when a general election is not required, the SEO will be responsible to update and maintain the voters list and to conduct a by-election if required.

 

The successful applicant must have computer experience, strong communications and interpersonal skills.  Management and previous election experience would be considered an asset.  Applicant must be willing to attend election training sessions.
